Tipstuff and privacy

mis à jour le 24/05/2018

Introduction

As a family, as parents and as Internet users, we have two beliefs that we hold:

  • Protecting privacy on the Net is essential, and even more so when it comes to family privacy;
  • No data concerning our families - and especially our children - should be visible, disclosed or used by a third party without first having a clear and explicit authorization from us.

TipStuff has always been designed in accordance with these two convictions, well before the arrival of the European Regulation on Data Protection, which however has the merit of generalizing these good practices.

The European Data Protection Regulation came into force on 25th of 2018. This new legislation has three objectives:

  • standardize legislation in the European Union,
  • empowering companies to manage their personal data,
  • and enhance the protection afforded to individuals about their data.

As a result, we have updated our privacy policy.

1. NATURE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED

According to the CNIL, "Any information relating to a natural person who is identified or who can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identification number or to one or more specific elements of that person shall constitute personal data. »

If any information or group of information can lead to the identification of an individual, either by itself or by means of cross references, it is personal data.

For example, a last name, first name, address, telephone number, but also an IP address, a photo, are considered personal data, as they all allow you to be identified, either directly or indirectly.

The data that you send us directly

By its very nature, the TipStuff application collects personal data, most of which is transmitted directly to you.

On your family itself

  • Name,
  • Postal Address,

It should be noted that none of this information is mandatory. Even with respect to the surname of the family, there is no requirement to indicate the actual surname.

Similarly, shopping lists, events in the agenda, tasks, etc., do not constitute private data insofar as they do not allow you to be identified directly or indirectly.

Sur chaque membre de la famile

  • First name
  • E-mail address
  • Date of birth;
  • Telephone number

Apart from the e-mail address required for processing, none of this information is mandatory..

Exchanges with technical support

  • Name
  • e-mail address
  • email contents

2. PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

According to the CNIL, it is "any operation, or set of operations, relating to such data, whatever the process used (collection, recording, organisation, storage, adaptation, modification, extraction, consultation, use, communication by broadcast transmission or any other form of provision, reconciliation or interconnection, blocking, erasure or destruction, etc.)".

The collection, transfer or storage of your personal data is processing within the meaning of the DGPS.

According to the CNIL, "The controller of a processing of personal data is, unless expressly designated by the laws or regulations relating to such processing, the person, public authority, service or body that determines its purposes and means. In practice and in general, it is the legal person embodied by its legal representative. »

By connecting and entering your data on the TipStuff application, the controller is therefore:

contact@tipstuff.com

We also work with subcontractors for certain operations (payment of subscriptions), and as such they must have access to certain information, but only that which we transfer to them.

3. STORAGE PERIOD FOR PERSONAL DATA

The data required for the TipStuff service

We will keep your data related to your TipStuff House until it is deleted.

A TipStuff House is automatically deleted when it has not been used for more than 6 months.

The owner of the TipStuff house has the possibility to delete all personal data (in the sense of RGPD) of the family at any time by using the "Delete" function on the Family form or by making a request to support@tipstuff.com. The disconnection of all members will be immediate. The deletion will be effective after a period of 2 working days. After this period, the deletion will be definitive and it will no longer be possible to request its cancellation.

Each member of a TipStuff family has the possibility to delete the personal data (in the sense of RGPD) belonging to him/her on his/her member file by clicking on the "Delete" button on the said file. The member's disconnection will be immediate on all devices where he or she is connected. The deletion will be effective after a period of 2 working days. After this period, the deletion will be definitive and it will no longer be possible to request its cancellation.

Data not accessible to the application

Any data that is not accessible within the TipStuff application is never kept beyond the time strictly necessary for your use of the TipStuff service, and for managing our relationship with you. This includes exchanges with TipStuff's support department.

Social network data

When deleting a TipStuff account, associated data on social networks such as FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram, Messenger, Google Play, AppleStore, etc. are not deleted. It is the user's responsibility to refer to the deletion procedures of each of these companies to find out how to proceed.

Banking and financial data

However, we draw your attention to the fact that some of your information, such as that concerning your payment, cannot be deleted, particularly for accounting reasons.

Legal data

Some data will be stored as part of our legal and regulatory obligations.

4. TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA

The new regulations also give you the right, upon request, to have your personal data transferred to a third party organization.

You can make the request by email or by post to our customer service, always proving your identity at support@tipstuff.com and/or Société TipStuff, 104 avenue de la Résistance, 93100 Montreuil. By their nature, paper-based transfer is not an option. The data will then be made available to you via a link to download your data.

5. CONFIDENTIALITY OF PERSONAL DATA

We undertake to keep your data in the strictest security conditions, and not to communicate it to anyone without your express consent.

However, we are obliged to transmit some of your data to subcontractors for certain operations, in particular the management of your payments (bank and accountant).

When you take out a subscription, it is a purchase, so we must necessarily use a banking institution to validate the payment transaction. Our bank is Crédit Coopératif and our payment system is Stripe or ApplePay. The latter therefore holds all the data necessary for your identification and the validation of your payment. TipStuff does not hold any banking information about you.

We also transmit data concerning the amount of subscriptions, as well as the method of payment to our accountant.

8. SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The activity of your household on TipStuff concerns only its members and is confidential: no indexing by a search engine. In short, no one knows that you - and especially your children - are there. There is no notion of a public profile on TipStuff.

The data you enter in TipStuff and which circulates on the Net is also encrypted: this means that apart from you and those you have authorized, no one can read the messages, or see the pictures of your children.

The data, as well as the application and the site, are hosted by Online.net, a subsidiary of the Iliad group, on servers located in France, and no information about you is transferred outside the EU.

Your data is regularly backed up from your mobile device (smartphone or tablet) to our servers. Similarly, when you log out, we save all your data on the servers and delete it from your mobile device to return it to you the next time you log in.

This means that if you lose your smartphone, your data will be safe and we will return it to you on the device you will use the next time you connect.

On our servers, we take all necessary precautions to ensure the security of your data and in particular to prevent it from being distorted, damaged or accessed by unauthorized third parties.

10. CONSENT

Before collecting your data, we ensure that we fully accept the following elements:

  • Our General Terms and Conditions of Use (T&Cs),
  • Our General Terms and Conditions of Subscription (GTC) in the case of a subscription,
  • This Privacy Policy.

Acceptance of the TOS and this Privacy Policy is a necessary prerequisite for the creation of any account on the TipStuff application.

If you no longer agree with these elements, you can delete your account in your Family file at any time.

11. TRANSPARENCY ON OUR MECHANISMS

We are committed to treating your data with the utmost transparency. When we set up new mechanisms, or when we need to pass on your details to a third party, we undertake to inform you as soon as possible.
